Tips on Improving Your Small Business Email Communications

Whether you like it or not, emails are staying. A lot of businesses are relying on the service as the majority of the population in the industry are using it as their form of communication.

Despite the majority, there are members of the workforce who don’t check their emails, whether at home or vacation. As a business, this can lead to miscommunication and delay of results. One way of overcoming this writing effective emails. It’s important to streamline your email communications. Here are ways how:

Being Passive Aggressive is a no-no

In a study conducted by Adobe, respondents answered the common email phrases they dislike the most. Based on the results, “Not sure if you saw my last email” for the highest answers, with “Per my last email” coming next. The last two were “Per our conversation” and “Any update on this?”. With the results alone, it already shows that being passive aggressive should be avoided.

Seek the Help of Technology

It’s important to create a wonderful email experience for employees to always use and read their emails — this includes getting rid of spams.

Establish an Email Communications and Etiquette Standard

This one is for business owners. As an owner, it’s your responsibility to create a standard on how every employee uses their email and how they create emails for communication. For example, stating clearly on when employees are going to use “reply all” or require them to include you in the “CC” list.

Keep it Short

In today’s age, we are now living the fast-paced life. People are always on the go and — all thanks to technology — they always check their mobile phones for updates, notifications, and even emails.

A perfect example of people always on the go is real estate agents. Whether they are touring clients in different locations or on their way to negotiate with buyers/sellers, they always find the time to check emails through their mobile phones. But it would be annoying for them if they get to receive a lengthy email that they need to scroll down to read the whole thing.

Emails are a powerful tool in communicating with others. Whether inside the office or for personal matters. Emails are efficient and formal to use, especially if you plan to buy businesses Australia.
